The Ascendant or Rising Sign is the ‘other sign’ which you must consider to be of equal importance in addition to the Sun Sign. It is the sign on the eastern horizon at the minute you took first breath and exerts a strong influence. The sensitive, unselfish and rather mystical Pisces nature of your inner self will have to contend with your outer personality that is very positive and assertive, ambitious and self motivated. The Rising Sign is usually different from your Sun Sign, but this depends entirely upon what time of day it was at your birth. Sometimes it may be that you are born Aries, for instance, and your also have Aries on the Ascendant. This will intensify all your Arian characteristics.
