Gemini is Your Birth Sign?

This is a zodiacal sign ruled by the planet Mercury. Its quality is of the Element Air and it is Mutable.

You are a natural mediator, nervous, witty but regrettably often inconsistent or inconstant in thought and in emotional life. You have a natural interest in life, in people, and thoughts and ideologies and your friendships are likely to be multiple and somewhat superficial, rather than close commitments to a single partner.

Your personality seeks communication and contact with people and ideas. It places great importance upon ease of self expression and takes pleasure in speech and conversation, writing and all things new and exciting.

The life of a Gemini is usually directed towards dual interests, preferring to have several interests on the go at the one time. You tend also to be dual in love, and this tends to require an unnatural secretive element in your nature.

You have an exceedingly active, adaptable mind, often too fast for others to grasp. Your spontaneous nature seeks change constantly and ‘being in two minds’ is an expression that could apply to you.

Habits are characteristic but somewhat light hearted and flirtatious in matters of the heart and can often possess a certain superficiality in nature. Friendships are often tainted by a restlessness that can be conveyed to others who find a certain sense of insecurity in your changeability.

Usually multi skilled in some manual hobbies or crafts.

Your keen wit and desire for travel, when combined, will make of you an interesting, and interested traveller with skills in communication as teachers, or in travel agencies, news reporting, or involvement in publishing houses.

Lacking concentration because of diversion of interests, the mind needs to be confined and cultivated to retain strength in your chosen areas of the intellectual pursuit.

Health is generally affected by sensitivity of the nervous system. It is important to pay attention to your lungs – breathing exercises – inhaling perfumes, controlled exercise and focus upon self discipline.

A fine trait is that you will be inclined to undertake any burdensome responsibilities with a good spirit, if this is what is needed in a harmonious partnership or a friendship or when seeking the approval of others.

Remember: All these features relate to your Sun Sign, your inner nature, and are modified or intensified by the qualities inherent in your Rising Sign as well as the planetary aspects.

Understanding Yourself

To understand our personal nature is a natural motivation and an ever constant requirement if we are to be in control of our lives and fulfil our potential talents.

Astrology offers a simple process to help begin self understanding using symbolism related to the planets and the zodiacal signs to explain natural energies that impact upon our Earth from the heavenly bodies – Sun, Moon and planets. To these we inevitably must respond, even if unconsciously, as we react to weather patterns. Psychological responses are influenced by our individual character and our strongest established thoughts and feelings, but also issue from our core centre, our soul.

To begin to simplify the complex patterns of energy affecting human nature, astrology uses the ancient system of dividing our sky into 12 angles related to the constellations that reside in that part of the heavens, and which we call the zodiac.

Just as the Sun is important in considering the weather, so it is the first consideration in astrological influence. At the hour of your birth, the Sun was located in one of the zodiacal areas, where it remains for a month, from the 21st of one month to approx. 21st of the next month. At this time that must be accurately calculated by astronomers, the Sun passes into the next sign. For example, if born on the 22nd of May you would relate to the information about the sign Gemini, and another person born 18th May would belong to the previous sign which is Taurus.

The most basic starting point is for us to identify the major zodiacal sign that influences us. Anyone else in the world, born on the same day of the month will share that sign, known as your Sun Sign. The chart of 360° with its 12 divisions, allows 30° for each sign’s territory.

It is unusual to find a person who does not know their astrological birth sign. But it may not be clear to those who are born on 21st-22nd of any month, on what is called the ‘cusp’. The exact degree is required to determine which the dominant sign is truly, but as this requires an ephemeris or further astronomical data, it may be generally safe to assume that your nature will partake of the characteristics of a mixture of both of these signs. However at the outset, you will learn a lot about yourself by reading what is available about some of the inherent personality and character qualities commonly attributed to all in your Sun Sign.

These traits are always mentioned with the purpose of balancing the positive with the negative – the first to help you feel confident in your strengths and the latter to remind you of possible failings that must be overcome. From this simple exercise you will begin to realise how complex is your own nature and the patience that will be required to get to know yourself and your potential to live life positively, in harmony with the Spiritual Source of your life energies.

You will find it worthwhile.

ASTROLOGY – The Science

Astrology is the twin science of astronomy. The two functioned in association for centuries in both observation and interpretation of celestial influences and how these affect all life on earth, but human beings in particular. It was common that one who studied the heavens was both astronomer and astrologer.

Although it was once considered logical to approach both the exploration of physical heavenly bodies in our skies through astronomy, as well as observing the affect they have upon man’s psyche, through astrology, there has developed an unfortunate separation of the sciences. No longer is it generally accepted that they are complementary sciences, offering information that would allow us to not only perceive the heavens, but to understand the influences of the planets and our human relationship to the whole.

There is a vigorous public interest in both our developing knowledge of our solar system and of space itself. There is also an increasing natural inclination to observe more about astrology beyond the basic fascination with one’s personal astrological birth sign which has proven itself as a powerful aid to psychological analysis and self understanding.

But astrology, although capable of indicating one’s personal talents, failings and aspects of our personality, has much more to offer. To appreciate how much, we have to extend our reading beyond the regular notes in the local newspaper and respect it as a legitimate science now being used in ever widening spheres as we begin to understand its potential application.

The science is based upon the fact that at any particular point in time, a chart may be drawn up which records and focuses upon all the different incoming influences and energies upon the earth and upon the particular life or individual person concerned. These invisible cosmic vibrations could be seen to correspond in a similar manner to different instruments in an orchestra. Each heavenly body plays a part in creating a co-operative harmony or in the case of adverse conditions, clashing or turbulent energies, which the individual must learn to utilize or overcome. The influences from the planets and beyond form complex patterns we could liken them to cosmic weather conditions.

The work of Professor L. Kolisko demonstrates through chemicals visual charts of the patterns of the planetary energies that also affect our human chemistry.  His publication “Spirit in Matter” published by Kolisko Archive, Stroud, printed by John Jennings Ltd, Gloucester 1948, is highly recommended.

All energies are powerful, whether visible or invisible. The sun’s light is visible to us and its power we can feel, as we can to a lesser degree, the moon’s energy. But that of the other planets, although it exists, is not visible to us. In spite of this, since early history, people have been aware both of their existence and the different powers they wield and worshipped them as gods.

Regarding the influence of the other far galaxies and celestial energies we call the zodiac, we must rely upon what the science of Astronomy tells us of their placement in the cosmos and upon Astrology to give us the results of thousands of years of observation and research that allows us to be confident that an understanding of human beings and their reactions to astrological influences is possible.

To gain insight into Astrology, there is no better place to start our observations, than with ourselves, at the moment of our birth.

SUN SIGNS – KEY TO YOUR CHARACTER

The finest starting point to begin the absorbing journey towards self understanding is at the comforting weigh station where at least 12th of the world’s population begin their travels – at the signpost indicated by Astrology.

The 12 human virtues or qualities have been sung repeatedly by many followers of various philosophies and each can be interpreted somewhat differently – some of the 12 requiring several words to describe their influence. Each sign is complex with many facets so we approach self examination with care.

Courage, is a quality generally related to Aries -Strength, to Taurus- Creativity, to Gemini- Kindness, to Cancer- Power or Confidence, to Leo – Work, to Virgo – Justice, to Libra -Concentration, to Scorpio – Humour, to Sagittarius – Perseverance, to Capricorn – Friendliness, to Aquarius –Humility, to Pisces.

Now if you happen for instance to be born under Aries …..

It may be apparent that the traits attributed to this sign are obvious but not always.

A person born under the Sun Sign Aries will usually demonstrate great inner courage and sense of adventure or may not yet have learned to express these qualities which points to a need to strengthen them. The powers and talents are latent in each sign, awaiting us to utilize and express these energies according to our programmed self image , ideals and aims in life.

If you are born under Taurus ….

You may have great inner strength and fortitude and be known for your stability and reliability but if you have not given attention to the use of these traits, it is possible that you may demonstrate the negative side and must consider a need to deliberately focus upon exercising latent and available characteristics.

Providing we study the astrological indications from a reliable source other than the popular newspaper columns, we will find potent and exciting clues as to the most evident of our weaknesses and strengths. Furthermore, after a detailed reading of our personal birth chart, it is possible to receive clear signs of our most suitable employment and career path. There are many useful applications.

I cannot speak too highly of the science and art of Astrology.  There is nothing light hearted nor flippant about this most ancient of the sciences.  It is to be regretted that there is so little known of its serious value. In antiquity and for many centuries it has been considered as the twin science of Astronomy. They were known as the sacred sciences.
